Retreat Details

Day 1 – Saturday, May 16: Marrakech

We will rendezvous at Marrakesh Menara Airport for a group transport to our authentic and lovely Moroccan guest house on the outskirts of Marrakech, in the countryside. You'll settle into your room, explore the grounds, and meet for an orientation with our tour guide, Fouad. We’ll head back into Marrakech for an Opening Dinner at a traditional Moroccan restaurant to celebrate the start of our retreat, followed by a walk in the world-famous square, Jemma al Fna. Located in the heart of Marrakech, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a feast for the senses. With snake charmers, musicians, street performers, and exotic food stalls, it’s the perfect introduction to the spirit of Morocco.

Day 2 – Sunday, May 17: Marrakech

Start your first full day in on retreat with morning yoga, followed by breakfast. Today, we’ll head back into Marrakech, for an all-day exploration of the city. One of the four Imperial Cities of Morocco, Marrakech is a bustling and historic town, with much to see. We’ll visit Koutoubia Mosque, the Secret Garden, and Medersa Ben Youssef, all breathtaking examples of classic Moroccan architecture. After a light lunch, we’ll explore the medina and its world-famous souks.

Day 3 – Monday, May 18: Marrakech

We’ll have a morning yoga practice, followed by breakfast. Today, you're welcome to spend the morning by the pool, enjoy your complimentary hammam/massage, or join your host for horseback riding in the historical Palm Groves of Marrakech. After lunch, we’ll head back into the city to enjoy more shopping at the souks and exploring the medina in the afternoon.

Day 4 – Tuesday, May 19: The Atlas Mountains / Ouzod Waterfalls

We’ll leave early for our first excursion into the mountains, with a drive through The Atlas Mountains to the breathtaking Ouzod Waterfalls. We’ll bring our yoga mats to do a morning practice in front of the falls, followed by a guided hike and lunch. Arriving back at our hotel by late afternoon, there’s still time for a dip in the pool or a visit to the hammam spa before dinner.

Day 5 – Wednesday, May 20: The Atlas Mountains

We’ll have a morning yoga practice, followed by breakfast. Today, we’ll visit a Berber house for a traditional Moroccan tea ceremony in the Atlas Mountains. Fully fueled, we’ll take a short hike through the local orchards and gardens with our Berber guide to a delicious lunch at a local organic farm. After lunch, we’ll stop to visit a Women’s Argan Oil Cooperative to learn about the Argan Tree, the process of making the treasured argan oil, and hear from some of the women who work there. This is an amazing opportunity to shop straight from the source for this highly prized oil and give back to the community at the same time.

Day 6 – Thursday, May 21: The Agafay Desert

We’ll have a morning yoga practice, followed by breakfast. Our drive to the Agafay Desert back over the Atlas Mountains is truly magical, and we’ll stop for lunch at La Dune, an epic restaurant atop a dune with views of the desert in all directions. We’ll head to our desert camp with time for a dip in the pool and perhaps an afternoon nap or stroll. A sunset camel ride or ATV ride will awaken your senses to the beauty of the desert at night before dinner, then glamping under the stars!

Day 7 – Friday, May 22: The Agafay Desert

We will spend our final day in the desert with a morning practice followed by breakfast. You can spend the day lounging by the pool, exploring the dunes, or simply reading at the poolside bar. A sunset camel ride or ATV ride will awaken your senses to the beauty of the desert at night before our farewell dinner, with local music and dancers. An epic ending to an epic trip!

Day 8 – Saturday, May 23: Marrakech

There will be no practice this morning; early morning transports will take us back to Marrakech Menara Airport from the desert for departure flights.
